Cailean Finn (b. 1997) is an Irish media artist, researcher, and creative technologist from Waterford, Ireland. His practice investigates the idiosyncratic nature of human–machine relationships, drawing from computational histories and engaging with technologies and practices such as creative coding, artificial intelligence/life, game development, and electronics. Through these inquiries, he reflects on how machines mediate agency, perception, and interaction within digital cultures.

His current research explores robotics, artificial intelligence, and artificial life, with a particular focus on emergent behaviour as a material for interaction. He approaches these themes through experimentation, hacking, and critical reflection, creating works that blend computation, embodiment, and inquiry into human–machine relations.

Cailean holds a BSc in Computer Science (2019) and an MA in Art & Technology (2022) from the University of Limerick, where he is presently pursuing a PhD in Media Art. He is also a member of CONCEPTNULL, an artist-led, community-driven organisation that publishes a bi-monthly newsletter and organises events to support accessible platforms for new media arts in Ireland.
